Community Outreach

The Muslim Community of Dominica (MCD) Outreach/Dawah Programmes focuses on teaching about the correct Islam on the Island of Dominica by coordinating different events.

Key Activities & Events;

  • Weekly Radio Programme
    The MCD hosts a weekly Thursday night radio programme about Islam, the hour-long programme ends with a 15 minute Q&A session.
  • Village Visits
    The MCD coordinates with members of the MCD from different villages to host an introductory session about Islam to the people who live in that locality.

The MCD team is dedicated to serving all our brothers and sisters in Dominica, Muslims, and Non-Muslims in times of financial difficulties, with basic needs. MCD uses Zakat, Sadaqa and Fitra funds to meet these needs.

There are several other programs;

  • Feed the Poor
  • Annual Health Clinics
  • Collecting and Distributing  Udhya meat
  • Giving to the disadvantaged; Clothing, and furniture.

  • Abu Bakr reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

    The biggest of the great sins are: To join others in worship with Allah, to be undutiful to one's parents, and to give a false witness." He repeated it thrice, or said, "....a false statement," and kept on repeating that warning till we wished he would stop saying it.

  • Abu Hurairah reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

    Let whosoever believes in Allah and in the Last Day either speak good or remain silent. Let whosoever believes in Allah and in the Last Day honour his neighbour. Let whosoever believes in Allah and in the Last Day honour his guest.
    Reference : Sahih Bukhari & Muslim
