One of the misconceptions that many have is that provision means wealth or money, but it is much wider than that. Every good that is given to a person is a part of provision, hence guidance, children, knowledge, intellect, a good wife, neighbours, health and friends are all forms of provision.
In an authentic hadeeth, the Prophet ﷺ said:
In another narration, the Prophet ﷺ used the passive form of provision when describing the love that Khadijah may Allah be pleased with her had for him, so we understand that love of a person is a form of provision that Allah gives to His servants as we can see in this other hadeeth:
Children are also a source of provision from Allah, which is a source of strength for the whole ummah.
Allah said about the Children of Israel.
Allah shows here that He provided for the children of Israel with offspring which was a source of strength for them. Of course, we as Muslims must understand that mere numbers are not sufficient to strengthen a society but it must be accompanied by education as well as respecting and abiding by the laws of Allah.
