Being happy with ourselves and the way we were created is part of our faith in Al-Qadr one of the six articles of faith, and an important key to contentment in this life and harmony with others.

We did not choose where we were born, or what tribe or race we come from so a Muslim should learn to be pleased with what his Lord has decreed for him and to recognize that in everything there is wisdom.
Not only is accepting who we are an aspect of the belief in Qadr, but if properly understood and implemented, it can help eliminate envy and jealousy of others. Ahmad (22978) narrated from Abu Nadrah: Someone who heard the khutbah of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) on the second of the days of at-Tashreeq told me that he said:

And yet in another narration, narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) addressed the people on the day of the conquest of Makkah and said:

There is consensus among the scholars of the people of the Sunnah and the main body of the Muslims however that the Arabs are superior to other nations in terms of descent and lineage, but that is in general terms just as the Sahabah are better than those who came after them and that Abu Bakr is better than Umar and many other example that shows that people have virtues over others. That does not mean that each one of us has no value or virtue. Our value is based on taqwa and with that, we are all valuable in the eyes of the One who created us.
